Don't judge me

I saw the midnight screening of Eclipse last night and despite all the Twilight nay-sayers, I will stand by the fact that I thought it was awesome! Sometimes a little cheese is good for the soul.

Octo-love

I found this video via the Monterey Bay Aquarium's blog. Cuteness abounds. Enjoy!

No tissues left

After two weeks of the flu/bronchitis and general misery, I'm finally feeling normal again. This weekend I mostly vegged out, with small intermittent accomplishments like bathing Suki. I watched Bright Star on Saturday night and although it was a gorgeous movie, it was also quite possibly the saddest and most heart-wrenching movie I've watched in a while. If you haven't seen it yet I recommend it but make sure to keep the tissue box near. Hope you all had a lovely weekend! It's good to be back!
*have you seen this old post on Design Sponge?

Under the Weather

I know this artwork has been floating around the blogosphere lately, but it seemed appropriate for this post because I've been sick with a cold for the last few days. Get it? Under the weather? Heehee. I hope to be back as soon as I'm feeling better. And I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Pacific Northwest Awesomeness

Since moving to the West Coast, I've been learning all about the amazing critters that live on this side of the map. There are no kelp forests and rocky shores in Florida, and needless to say the water is much colder here so it's pretty darn different! I'm loving this poster from Banquet that I found on Design Sponge this morning. Sea animals just send my heart a-fluttering.

Excuse me Mr. Deer...

Would you hold my jewelry, please? I love this idea from one of Design Sponge's Sneak Peeks! The rest of the house is also jam-packed with cuteness.

Happy Oceans Day!

The oceans are clearly my (and this turtle's) favorite place in the whole wide world, and it's so very important that each of us plays our part to help protect the beautiful ocean ecosystems that we all depend on for so many things. Everyone shares the responsibility for the damage we've already done to our oceans (especially since last month's oil spill). Today I'm pledging to do my part and significantly reducing my use of plastics, i.e. no more plastic shopping bags, no more ziploc bags or plastic wrap, etc. It's going to be a tough one, but I'm going to try my darndest! What's your pledge?

Wanna do something? Follow this link to send a letter to your representatives. Go ahead, it'll make you feel all active and involved. Yay oceans!

Doh!

Don't you just hate it when you find something that you really want, but kind of slack off and when you go back to buy it, it's gone? That's what happened to me last night with these Organic Cotton Vans. I've had them in the back of my mind for weeks now and I finally went to take the plunge last night...sigh. Now I'll have to wait and hope they come back soon because I just can't settle for the yucky non-organic ones!

Gray Monday

Not even the weather was happy about it being Monday today. It was a gray, foggy day. But not the kind of fog that hugs the trees and floats all fluffy-like in the air, it's the crabby fog that gives you raspberries. Blurp--> that's my crabby fog noise.

I'll take two please!

I'm in love. I kinda have a thing for calendars and this one is absolutely amazing. I love the different fonts and the fact that you can use it for a few years. Good times.

Stuck in my head

Ever since the She & Him show, I've had these lyrics stuck in my head. At least it's a good song,  it can get really annoying when it's a commercial jingle (who hasn't been tortured by that five dollar foot-long song?) or worse, a Black-Eyed Peas' song. I'm so 3000 and eight, you so 2000 and late!
